how is your um and yang today? well, if you need some help in finding balance, with some added korean flair, you must try HanGawi located in NYC. as summer comes to an end and the temperatures begin to drop, this is the best time to stroll down to HanGawi for their hearty tofu clay pot in ginger sauce! this dish is served steaming hot and is loaded with mushrooms, bok choy, sugar snap peas, ginger and thin strips of the best tofu i have ever tried. there are other types of vegetables in there, too, i just can’t recall them all. you’ll also get an order of rice with the clay pot. i asked for the multi-grain rice and loved it. they will also serve you two different kimchi dishes (spicy and non-spicy). i’ve tried many other dishes at HanGawi but the tofu clay pot is my favourite. they also have great lunch specials, which is a nice way to try this place on a budget. for around twenty dollars you can have a three-course meal. remember to save room for dessert!
the tofu cheesecake at HanGawi is to die for!! my non-vegan friends who have tried it cannot believe it is vegan.. oh, but it is! it is so rich and creamy and you don’t feel heavy after eating it. the blueberry sauce is just lovely. the sorbets are also amazing and unique. by the way, everything at HanGawi is vegan, yay! thank you, HanGawi!
